The SIG e-Assessment pursues several goals such as lobbying for e-assessment and national funding programs, information hub between people and institutions, coordination between universities, and pool projects in e-assessment. The SIG organises regular workshops about e-assessment.
The SEB Consortium is the body which sustains ongoing funding of the Safe Exam Browser open source project to continue its maintenance, development and support activities. As a startup support for the SEB Consortium and as a community engagement, SWITCH has become a Principal Member of the SEB Consortium. Through SWITCH's Principal Membership all Swiss Higher Education Institutions receive automatically free Silver Membership through their association with SWITCH. As a community of experts, the SIG e-Assessment has been mandated to represent SWITCH within the SEB Consortium.
