Commentaries to the SIGs aims
In the recent years the number of exams delivered has sharply increased due to the Bologna reform. To tackle the increased workload many universities are considering the use of electronic devices in the assessment process. Therefore e-Assessment can be described as an end-to-end electronic assessment processes where the computer is used for the creation, delivery and marking of assessments. Although e-Assessment can offer a wide range of opportunities (time and cost savings, validity, reliability, fairness), one holdback are the high investments (hardware, software, buildings) necessary to run the exams (security, legal issues, etc). Since all universities are facing similar problems, we would like to bring them together to exchanges their individual experiences in a Special Interest Group.
