Discussion Sessions

Learning Café — Special Interest Groups (SIG) & other Working Groups

The Learning Café as well as the Special Interest Groups (SIG) & other Working Groups will be organized as discussion sessions, where participants can actively contribute with presentations and/or inputs.

The aim of the discussion sessions is to exchange ideas on specific topics and/or to recruit new participants for a SIG or Working Group.

This year, you are invited to employ Twitter and eduPad as collaboration tools to tweet about the conference, the sessions and to take the minutes. We will create a hashtag on Twitter and an eduPad for each session.

Thus, each session will be hosted by a presenter and a reporter. The presenter will introduce a topic to the participants and incite a discussion, while the reporter will take the minutes and post tweets on Twitter. The presenter is asked to determine who will be the reporter. Mobile devices (Airbook or iPad) will be available for the reporters.

At the end of the conference the minutes and tweetbook of the sessions will be published on eduhub.

Duration:

• 3 time slots of 20 minutes or
• 1 time slot of 60 minutes, according to the topic to be discussed

Discussion Tables:

There will be 8 discussion tables with 1 flip chart per table. We will create a hashtag on Twitter and an eduPad for each session. Reporters will receive mobile devices (Airbook or iPad) to take the minutes and post tweets.

Procedure of the Discussion Sessions:

• At the beginning of the session, each presenter has 1 min. to introduce the topic in plenum.
• The participants choose their session.
• The presenter introduces the topic to the participants and incites a discussion.
• The reporter posts tweets on Twitter and takes the minutes.
• Every 20 min. the the participants switch table (this does not apply to the 60 min. sessions).
• At the end of the conference the tweetbook and the minutes of the different sessions will be published on eduhub.
