Examples (Widulle):

"Thank you for these examples, Wolfgang Widulle, you are using Powerpoint. Has the presentation of Nadia confirmed your preference for PPT or have you discovered a new way that you would like to try out. Please comment here (AR):"

Examples (König):

I use concept maps for different purposes, two examples of which are shown below:

This cmap shows the process in Human resource management of how to recruit new employees.  Different steps in the recruiting process are shown; simultaneously, the map displays different useful documents (like forms, checklists and so on). Thus, the  student can easily recognize the structure of the process + get some helpful documents.

The second example shows a simple cmap which has to explain the differences between several concepts in the shaping of a didactic process.

(Please note: both examples are in German)

Comment: I like Moodle a lot ;)

Suggestion for the follow-up

"During the presentation one use of concept maps was called a very frequent one: Organising one's PD! What would be the preferred tool for that in a given subject and a given type of research (AR)?"

"Practical experience in assigning students the task of working through e.g. a chapter in a book and to distill the essence of the content; ways of guiding / supporting students in the process of developing good concept mapping skills." (CMeier)

"Why not have a couple of online-conferences with experience based examples of teaching and learning with these techniques we learned to know last time, focusing on different disciplinary approaches: How have these tools been used in natural sciences, humanities, economics..." (Andreas König)
