3D-Learning Environments for Teaching & Learning

A walk through one of those virtual worlds: Second Life (SL)

3D is booming. The worldwide acceptance of using virtual worlds (MUVES) increases monthly. In the second quarter of 2009, the number of registered users and users of virtual worlds rose over the first quarter by almost 40 percent to 579 million. In 2010 a lot of changes reached SL. The use of a virtual representative (Avatar) in a 3D space will certainly be like e-mail in a few years of course. Many English and some German universities and institutions are already collecting a wide range of experiences in virtual environments. We like to walk with you through SL to explain and to show some interesting teaching & learning environments, real life/second life-universities and much more.
