Duties

This position requires 120 or 180 teaching hours in Bachelor, Master and post-graduate programmes in the domain. The appointee will conduct research and publish findings in national and international journals and conferences. He/she is expected to apply for funding from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF) or other national or international funding institutions. The appointee will also supervise research assistants, master and doctoral students. The appointee is expected to engage in executive and managerial functions within the Faculty, particularly within the TECFA research and teaching unit. He/she is required to respond to demands from the community, in relation with his or her domain(s) of expertise.

Qualification and profile

PhD in education, psychology, cognitive sciences or equivalent. Candidates should have a solid understanding and expertise in the field of educational technology and in particular the design and study of innovative interventions (such as open resources, community learning, digital makerspace) focused on developing digital skills and literacy over the life span as well as the new forms of learning and training practices in the digital age. The appointee will have a strong track record in the specific domain, experience in teaching at university level, the capacity to manage a research team and to secure research funding, and strong connections and partnerships with international researchers and research networks.
