Are you curious about adaptive learning, a data-driven approach to teaching in online learning environments? Then, this is an opportunity for you!

07. October 2021, Victoria Mirata, FFHS

We would like to invite you to join the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on «Basics of Adaptive Learning» that runs on the Swiss MOOC Service, Switzerland’s national open edX platform. This MOOC offers you an opportunity to acquire a high quality of knowledge on adaptive learning systems, learning analytics, and didactic aspects of adaptive instructional design. Moreover, you will get insight into future developments of this pedagogical approach to instruction that is able to provide a personalised learning experience in blended and online environments.

At the end of the course, you will be able to

  • analyse and evaluate adaptive learning environments for your personal or institutional needs;
  • understand and reflect on basic approaches to adaptive learning and instruction;
  • select appropriate methods and tools for creating adaptive learning environments.

Some parts of this MOOC have been developed using the principles of adaptive learning, which allows you to experience this innovative approach to teaching in practice. The research team from the UNESCO Chair on Personalised and Adaptive Distance Education of the Swiss Distance University of Applied Sciences have developed the MOOC «Basics of Adaptive Learning» for all who are interested in establishing, extending and/or improving technology-based (blended) courses, learning methods or simple learning systems at all levels and settings of formal and non-formal education. It could be useful for instructional designers, teachers, trainers, tutors, project managers, researchers, and students.

Participation is open and unlimited.
