A peek into Mixed Reality

First impressions and thoughts

Last October, Microsoft released "Windows Mixed Reality", and head-mounted displays are seen more and more. Mixed reality happens in the intersection between human, computer and environment. What is it about, and may it have an impact on higher education as well?

I would like to approach this topic in five steps:

1. Does information technology in general have an impact on education?
2. What is Mixed Reality about?
3. My own first steps as a novice
4. A small education-related experiment
5. My personal suggestion towards NRENs (such as SWITCH) regarding mixed reality
