Blended Conference November 2018

The League of European Research Universities (LERU) is a prominent advocate for the promotion of basic research at European research universities. We strongly believe that frontier research plays an essential role in the innovation process and significantly contributes to the progress of society.

We aim at furthering politicians', policy makers' and opinion leaders' understanding of the important role and activities of research-intense universities. Our 23 members bring together representatives to work on LERU policy development and engage in mutual learning in many areas.

For broader dissemination of knowledge and experiences in use of e-learning solutions in educational practice, the results and outcomes of our different task groups will be presented to a larger group of e-learning innovators and adopters from LERU institutions and seven Central European partners during the Blended conference "Digital Higher education Summit 2018".

The Blended Conference comprises a "virtual" online pre-conference and a "face to face" event in Utrecht. The number of participants during the face to face part is limited. Invitation of participants will be organised in close cooperation with Vice Rectors of Teaching and Learning.

By organising such an event, a large group of teachers and staff members, with specific expertise from LERU institutions, will have the opportunity to create new networks. Such collaboration networks are expected to be very useful for further cooperation between our respective institutions.
