DICE 1

A methodology to approach digital copyright in education

The DICE project (digital copyright in education) aims at providing support to Swiss Higher Education Institutions about copyright management of digital content. Goals of the project are to increase awareness of copyright issues in education, to develop fundamental skills about intellectual property and copyright management in higher education staff and to increase the readiness of authors to publish open access resources.

During the webinar the DICE main achievement will be presented: a methodology to approach copyright issues in education. The methodology has been developed by several legal experts and published in a handbook in four different languages. Furthermore, other resources that have been created during the project (e.g. online case studies) will be presented and explained, and the requirements of an association dedicated to digital copyright in education will be discussed.

DICE is a project funded by the Swiss Confederation within the AAA/SWITCH program; it has been promoted by Università della Svizzera Italiana (USI), in collaboration with Fernfachhochschule Schweiz (FFHS), Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich (ETHZ) and Université de Genève (UNIGE).
